Ethical statement on publishing and best practice
The editorial team of the MeTI journal (Métodos en Traducción e Interpretación / Methods in Translation and Interpreting) wishes to highlight its commitment to the scientific community in guaranteeing the ethics and quality of the articles published therein. The journal adheres to the Code of Conduct and Best Practice established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in order to regulate ethical aspects in scientific journals. Furthermore, it ensures the quality of the published materials, protecting and respecting both the content of the articles and their integrity. The Editorial Board undertakes to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies whenever necessary.
In accordance with these best practices, MeTI (Métodos en Traducción e Interpretación / Methods in Translation and Interpreting) has published the procedure followed for the selection of articles. The assessment criteria to be applied by the reviewers is to be based exclusively on the scientific relevance, originality, clarity and significance of the work submitted. Our journal guarantees the confidentiality of the review process at all times, which includes the anonymity of both reviewers and authors, as well as that of the content being reviewed, the peer review report issued, and any other communication from the Editorial Board. Confidentiality will also be maintained in the event of any clarifications or complaints.
MeTI (Métodos en Traducción e Interpretación / Methods in Translation and Interpreting) would also like to emphasise its commitment to the respect and integrity of published works. Plagiarism is obviously a fraudulent practice and is strictly forbidden. Articles containing plagiarism will not be published, and should plagiarism be detected at a later date, any such articles will be removed from the journal. By accepting the conditions of publication outlined by our journal, authors declare that the article being submitted and any associated materials are original and do not infringe copyright laws. They also declare that, in the case of joint authorship, there was full consensus of the co-authors and that the work has not been previously submitted or published elsewhere.
